Our client is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.
They are now looking to recruit for a Wildlife Park Manager to join them to manage the commercial performance and quality provision of the Wildlife Park, providing a truly inspirational student and visitor experience.
Leading the day to day collection management, the post holder will ensure the highest standards of animal care and welfare as well as staff, student, visitor and public safety. In addition they will play an active role in planning, developing, implementing and coordinating the animal collection plans and designs ensuring compliance with relevant laws and licencing requirements.
The post holder will also lead on and coordinate conservation efforts and research in cooperation with professional bodies and educational institutions and contribute fully to the promotion, and continued success, of the College in line with the College mission, values and strategic plan.
To be considered for this role, candidates must have demonstrable relevant experience in an animal collection, managing a diverse range of animals, coupled with current knowledge of legislation and statutory requirements of keeping animals and of animal biology, behaviour, nutrition, husbandry routines and techniques for restraining and/or capturing wild animals.
With knowledge and experience of software in administration of animal collections and the ability to keep accurate records, you must have management experience within a commercially focused visitor/attraction operations environment and excellent business acumen with the ability to develop and implement an effective commercial strategy.
