Job title: Management Accountant (Part qualified)
Location: Finchley
Salary: £28,000 per annum

Our client is currently seeking to appoint a new member for their finance team in Finchley. The ideal candidate should already be AAT qualified and ideally working towards CIMA.

The role will involve the preparation of Management Accounts for the organisation, which operates multiple business sites. These accounts are used extensively throughout the management team.

It is a requirement of the post that the successful applicant is highly computer literate, and previous experience of the Care Home Management System "Caresys" would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given.


Main Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Assisting the Assistant Finance Director to produce detailed management accounts for a group of care homes, nurseries and care villages
  • Maintain financial records on the in house software package (CareSys)
  • Analysis of spending within the group to highlight to areas where sites are not compliant with pre-agreed purchasing procedures
  • To attend meetings in the department as and when required
  • Auditing of financial information entered at a care home/nursery/care village level
  • Interrogation of information for reasonableness prior to inclusion within reports - this may involve detailed discussion both within the finance team and with the wider staff group
  • Production of period end reports and management accounts, including updating of ledgers following review at a care home/nursery/care village level when required
  • Assisting the financial controller with the 'Year End' procedures and production of accounts prior to detailed external audit, sufficient for the Charities Commission
  • Provide support to the care home/nursery and care village administration staff with correct coding of expenditure and income
  • To comply with all legislation, guidelines and procedures, (COSHH, Health & Safety etc.) and report any maintenance faults promptly to prevent accidents/incidents
  • To undertake other duties that may be reasonably requested by the Finance Manager or Chief Executive Officer


You will need to be flexible, working additional hours as and when required.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, driven individual, who is able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. You will have excellent communicate skills at all levels, written and oral, along with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.


Essential Skills and Experience

  • AAT + GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English
  • Qualified or working towards your CIMA qualifications
  • Previous financial management experience
  • Influencing and Negotiating
  • Knowledge of Social Care Legislation
