HR Manager

This client is a global provider of software development & IT services (Offshore business model) to Fortune 1000 enterprises + leading software product vendors in the financial services, communications, retail, high tech , pharmaceutical & media sectors.


They are currently looking to recruit an experienced HR Manager for their UK office based in London (the City).
 

The Role

This person will support the HR Director for Europe to develop & deliver people management strategies which support the Board’s overall strategic aims and objectives. He or she will be expected to contribute at both a strategic and operational level in order to identify HR priorities and recommend appropriate people management solutions which support business aims, in addition to providing a customer-focused HR service.

The job holder will provide expert professional advice and support to managers and staff on all aspects of people management, which fully reflects  desire to be an employer of choice, current employment legislation and best practice.

  • Proactively advising and supporting the business on HR matters including current legislation, best practice and policies and procedures e.g. disciplinary/capability matters
  • Advising on a wide range of policy and procedural issues including but not limited to performance, capability and conduct matters; redundancies and other termination of employment Managing investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters
  • Providing advice and guidance on individual employee relations cases, ensuring that these are well managed and meet the requirements of the Firm’s policies, best practice and employment legislation
  • Ensuring that annual appraisals are carried out in a timely manner and followed up
  • Providing support to staff on HR issues, as and when required
  • Engaging, enabling and challenging line managers to manage their people effectively
  • Coaching and developing  staff and promoting good employee relations
  • Preparing paperwork for investigations, hearings and outcomes (disciplinary, grievance, performance)
  • Seeking cost effective, pragmatic solutions to a variety of employee related issues, including those of a contentious or sensitive nature
  • Supporting the appraisal process, including coaching and training staff to understand the process and maximise the chance of a successful outcome
  • People management and development; building succession plans and talent     management
  • Responsibility for payroll
  • Vetting and on-boarding new candidates

  • 5 years + HR Management experience
  • Ability to work in multinational organisation
  • Experience gained (ideally) within IT Services/off-shoring/hi-tech environment
