Smart Solutions are currently seeking an experienced Waterspider to work within the aerospace industry. The main purpose of the job is to ensure start date adherence to day plan in manufacturing.
KEY AUTHORITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Kit readiness checking in support of manufacturing with an emphasis on preparing follow on days work
• Loading of sharepoint for required kits in support of manufacturing schedules
• Interfacing with stores to obtain kits and if necessary assist in picking
• Point of contact to receipt and sign for kits or parts coming into the work centre
• Responsible for clear layout and organisation of all kits in the work centre
• Notification of shortages to purchasing and scheduling
• Interfacing with upstream work centres to support the correct flow of products in support of kit requirements
• Feed the technicians with the next kits required to build
• Interface and support to the work centre supervisor
• To assist within other Supply Chain departments as requested
• Maintaining smooth day to day organisation and tidiness of the department
• Establish and maintain a clean professional working environment
• Willingness to participate in improvement activities across the business
• Must embrace change and be willing to adopt new skills to support all areas of the business
• Be flexible in a team oriented environment in achieving the business requirements
• Must be prepared to work a variety of shift patterns to include nights & weekends if the business dictates this as a requirement.
• General driving duties as and when required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous Aerospace manufacturing experience in material handling and schedule adherence
• Computer literate & previous experience in utilising a PC based operating/booking system
• Good communication skills essential as dealing with internal/external customers
OTHER CONDITIONS:
• Manual lifting
• Understanding of computer generated reports
• Ability to work under minimum supervision
• Awareness and adherence to the company Health & Safety procedure
• Self motivated and conscientious
