Scottish Autism seeks to promote and provide care, education, support and opportunities for individuals with autism of all ages throughout Scotland.
Due to current service needs and a new service development we are currently looking for enthusiastic and committed Autism Support Workers with an interest in developing a career working with people on the Autism Spectrum within West of Scotland services.
In this Autism Support Worker role, you will be an integral member of the support team contributing to and ensuring a high quality of care and support for individuals on the Autism Spectrum and/or with complex needs. Care provision will be on a needs assessed basis and will reflect the ethos of promoting independence and personal choice ensuring service users receive the physical, practical and emotional support to meet their needs..
Suitable Autism Support Workers will have an appropriate qualification for this position such as SVQ level 2/ 3 in Social Services and Healthcare or be willing to work towards attaining this qualification. Previous experience of working in a relevant field is desirable. You will have good interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to communicate effectively. Some practical experience using Microsoft software packages such as word and excel would also be beneficial to this role.
The preferred Autism Support Workers will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check and will be required to register with the SSSC.
