Working as part of a friendly team of fellow students and graduates from various subject areas, you will be responsible for writing and updating teaching materials for new Creative Media qualifications.

This is an opportunity for university students and graduates to gain relevant experience in the field of Creative Media, as well as in the publishing and education sectors (valuable for those considering a career in teaching).

Typical work activities

  • Writing original content for new teaching resources (typical content includes: student notes; activities with answers; assignment packs; keywords and definitions; posters and mind maps)
  • Updating and re-using content from existing resources
  • Checking draft resources against specification criteria and identifying areas for improvement

What we are looking for

Skills/qualifications:

  • Essential:
    • Creative Media related graduate or undergraduate (with at least a 2:1 achieved/expected)
    • Knowledge of most of the following areas: pre-production, photography, creation of digital media (graphics, animation, video, audio), digital games development, website production
    • Grade A in a related A Level (or equivalent qualifications, e.g. BTEC L3)
  • Desirable:
    • PGCE and/or teaching experience
    • Experience of writing in a professional context, e.g. freelance educational writing


Personal qualities:

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in accordance with project briefs and set timescales
  • Ability to organise your workload and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both in your work and when liaising with the subject editor
  • Attention to detail – to identify potential errors or omissions
  • Enthusiastic and a motivated team player

  • Pay from £8.99 – £10.80 per hour (£16,737 – £20,112 pro rata), inclusive of holiday pay and dependent on qualifications and experience
  • 3 month probation period
