Shift Engineer

Our client who is one of the leaders in the production of plastic products for the food and health industry located in the midlands area is looking for a Shift maintenance Engineer to work closely with both the shift (team) and the engineering department carrying out any servicing, repairs and maintenance to agreed and accepted Company standards. As a result of an internal promotion this position has become available.

The Shift engineer role is working a 4 on 4 off shift patten reporting to the Engineering Manager.  The person needs to be able to work independently and be a confident multi- skilled engineer. A person who looks for work and requires little supervision, thinks through problems methodically and keen to learn and develop.

The site operates 24 / 365 days a year, demanding environment in a high volume manufacturing site.

There are 20 days holiday a year with a requirement to cover an additional 20 days a year on n overtime basis to cover other engineers holidays.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required

Essential                                                                     Desirable

Strong leadership/management skills                              5 years relevant experience

ONC qualification                                                         Time served engineer

Engineering Experience                                                 HND/HNC qualification

Demonstrable leadership/management skills                   IT Skills (MS Office)

Work as a team           

Demonstrable ability to mentor and coach team members
