Job Role: Team Leader - Waste & Recycling - Night Shift
Location:Glasgow
Pay Rate:£8.75 per hour
Hours:Mon - Fri 10 PM to 6 AM (weekend work will also be expected)
Duration:On Going Temporary Basis
An exciting opportunity to work as a Sort Line Team leader with our client, a Waste Management specialist, based in the Glasgow area. Agency staff are required to sort through mixed recyclable waste, hand pick from a moving conveyor belt, and dropping it down separate chutes, for use in the next stage of the recycling process.
The Team Leader role is seen as a link between recycling staff, the Client and the Smart Solutions Account Manager, to ensure the safe and effective workings of the Agency staff, to report any issues and discrepancies back to the site Supervisor's and Agency Account Manager.
Team Leader - Job Role
The Team Leaders responsibilities are to carry out the following tasks:
• Organise staffing for up and coming daily shifts, by contacting staff members the previous day
• Ensure all Health and Safety Induction Training is completed and recorded, and records go back to Agency Account Manager for recording in Agency Training Matrix.
• Carry out Quality Training for working on the picking lines. Record information and give back to Agency Account Manager.
• Carry out Picking Rate Assessment forms as required for New Starters.
• Liaise with Supervisor over 'poor performers'. If required, carry out further training and Picking Rate Assessment forms. Complete and give to Agency Account Manager.
• Ensure Staff Levels are monitored and issues are reported immediately to Supervisor and Account Manager. Monitor material quality in the picking cabins on all the lines and relay this information back to Supervisor.
• Ensure correct PPE is worn and record PPE checks
• Report disciplinary issues to the Site Supervisor/Account Manager for addressing and action.
• Communicate with client shift Supervisor.
• Work as a sort line operative, sorting through recyclable waste as required, when not performing other team leader duties
• Perform conveyor belt lock-out procedure and other safety operation procedures as required,
• Following onsite training will be provided,
• Other duties as requested by Client or Smart Solutions
Due to bilingual staff we are looking for someone who speaks both Polish and English.
