Hours: Part Time - Opportunity for Permanent Position

The company is looking for qualified health professionals (Nurses, Occupational Therapists & Physiotherapists) with a minimum of 2 years post registration experience to work within their established clinic in Stockport.

Key Responsibilities:

This roles objective when carrying out each and every PIP assessment is to ensure claimants are assessed in a professional and consistent manner. Their Disability Assessors will need to evidence the impact of the claimant's health condition or disability in the report they will prepare for the DWP, which is why experienced healthcare professionals are required.

In this key role, you'll start by familiarising yourself with the claimant's information before meeting with them and conducting the assessment, you'll gather both formal and informal evidence and combine this with your own observations to justify and explain the descriptors you chose when completing a written report.

The Candidate:

An Occupational therapist, Physiotherapist or Nurse (Community Psychiatric, Learning Disability, Community Health, etc.) with at least 2 year's post-registration experience, with a clear understanding of the functional effects and clinical aspects of a wide range of physical health, mental health and developmental disorders. This role will require you to commit to a progressive training and assessment process, before you join, that will take the professional training and qualifications you already have and hone them specifically for PIP. Once this training and assessment course is passed and you have demonstrated your ability to maintain Grade A standard reports you will become Accredited by DWP to deliver PIP assessments.

The Disability Assessor will respond sensitively to each individual's situation and treat all claimants with empathy and the utmost respect. That approach, together with your outstanding interpersonal skills and professional integrity will enable you to build a rapport with claimants and inspire confidence and trust in everyone you assess. You must also have the ability to write comprehensive reports using a laptop and various IT systems and have strong communication skills, with the sensitivity required when meeting a claimant.
