Reporting to: Technical Supervisor

Pay: £18,630 p.a.

Position: Full Time. Weekend and evening work, and short periods away from home will be required as part of this role.

An opportunity has arisen for a Technician to join the Technical Support Team at one of Wales’ busiest attractions.

We are seeking a Technician to provide exhibit maintenance support for the exhibition at our Cardiff Bay site, and at other locations around the country.  The successful candidate will provide the technical expertise needed to maintain the exhibits and exhibitions which are enjoyed by over 350,000 people every year. Primarily responsible for providing on-site technical support for the Cardiff Bay exhibition during normal weekday working hours as well as on-call technical support during weekend opening hours on a rota basis, they will be able to diagnose faults quickly, whilst playing an important role in maintaining Techniquest’s international reputation for high quality exhibits. A personable and friendly disposition is essential, as the successful candidate will regularly come into contact with visitors to Techniquest’s exhibitions, and may even find themselves explaining their work to inquisitive children!

The ideal candidate will be highly organised with good attention to detail, have excellent communication skills, both written and oral. It is essential that they have proven experience of working as part of a technical or maintenance team.  A willingness to work at height on ladders, scaffolding towers and in a Cherry Picker is also essential.

A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office is required, as is a valid driving licence and the ability to drive vehicles up to 3.5t.
