Electro Mechanical Workshop Engineer Opportunities (Repair) BLUE28901

Merstham, Surrey

Salary up to £22,750 per annum

Our client is a diversified systems and services company in transportation and defence markets worldwide. They are a leading technology and specialised services company with a worldwide presence in nearly 60 nations, employing approximately 8000 people worldwide. They shape the way people travel in the world’s largest cities and their communications and cyber products safeguard and transmit data in real world operations.

They currently have opportunities for both permanent and contractor staff to join them as Electro Mechanical Workshop Engineers, utilising their experience within a busy workshop environment to carry out repairs on a wide variety of electro-mechanical technology.

Working across a variety of modules relating to ticketing machines and ticketing gates, including the replacement of components such as belts, bearings, gears, solenoid, motors, and PCB boards, you will be expected to use both hand tools and small power tools as required. Liaising with relevant departments when issues occur, you must document all repairs manually on computer systems and provide cover for Test Engineers as required.

As a Contractor, you will need to test your own repairs to devices. Your main task will be the service, repair and test of small ticket handling units, called a UTT. This involves stripping the unit down, cleaning, servicing, rebuilding and testing each unit. On the job training is provided and help will always be available while the contractor learns the job – there may also be opportunities to work on other repair products as and when workload permits.

With a relevant City & Guilds qualification (Level 2 or equivalent) and good working knowledge of electro-mechanical devices, you should have 1-2 years of experience in component level repair of mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment (e.g. coin handling units, ticket handling units, ticketing gates). Extensive experience of using hand tools and basic computer literacy are essential, and knowledge of ISO9001 and / or advanced computer packages would be highly advantageous.

This role is soon to be relocated to Crawley due to site relocation, so it is important that the successful candidate is comfortable with this move.

Our client offers a range of benefits to permanent employees, including free onsite parking, healthcare plan, contributory pension, annual salary reviews, company discount schemes and 25 days holiday.
