Operations Manager - FMCG

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a profitable, well-resourced and growing FMCG business in the Central Midlands. They require an experienced manager to be part of the senior management team, who will provide leadership and direction to a substantial production department and contribute to the vision and future strategy of the business.

The Role:

- The purpose of the role is to plan, deliver and control production performance activities to achieve current and future planned performance levels
- Ensure targets for Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery are strictly adhered to
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement, in line with the overall business objectives, that will deliver best practice across labour, equipment and systems while meeting customer requirements
- Maintain control of stock and reduce waste
- Liaise with sales, technical, engineering and customers for the introduction of new products including running trials, commissioning new equipment, cost management etc.
- Develop the competency of the manufacturing team to provide the necessary capability to meet current and future needs
- Provide the main contact for customer visits and audits

The Person:

- Ideally but not necessarily a graduate who understand good manufacturing practice (GMP)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience of working in a modern high volume production environment
- Customer focused and able to manage, deliver and exceed customer expectations
- Proven ability to build effective relationships with internal and external teams
- Proven experience of leading a large team
- Ability to respond positively to changing demands with a positive can-do approach

Remuneration

In addition to the basic salary there is a bonus, family healthcare and pension plus a contribution to relocation expenses if required. This is a permanent full-time position and is a fantastic career opportunity for an ambitious professional manager. Candidates must have good spoken English, currently be resident in the UK and be entitled to work in this country.
