Employing 8 staff, the boutique agency boasts a diverse B2B client list across professional services, healthcare, medtech, hospitality & tourism, property and e-commerce sectors. Building on its successful client relationship strategy, it is pursuing ambitious organic growth and targeting clients across the UK for project and retained assignments. To drive this new phase of development, and against the backdrop of an increasingly competitive market, the business is seeking a very experienced senior communications professional for the new role of Head of Operations.

The Role

  • Reporting to the MD, you will be responsible for directing assignments through leading, developing and mentoring a team of 6. You will be required to undertake process review & design, planning & financial forecasting, performance management, business development and client management

  • In this senior and significant role, you will produce clear business development strategies and be expected to make gains across a suite of success factors to include client retention & acquisition, new service development, team delivery and the achievement of business profitability

  • You will work closely with the MD to keep abreast of market developments to ensure opportunities are maximised and the agency is positioned appropriately to deliver

The Individual

  • Currently operating as an Account Director, head of function or occupying a senior position within a similar agency or newsroom, you will possess a demonstrable track record of effective, results-driven leadership & management and be capable of transitioning into this role as an influential, credible ambassador of the business

  • Possessing strong business acumen, you will have directed multiple high-profile assignments for commercial, public and third sector clients, and will have successfully led on client relationships to generate increased revenue and profit

  • Passionate about exceptional quality and committed to the continuous improvement of yourself and your team, you will possess high levels of emotional intelligence, be authoritative and have the required skills, attitude and approach to develop a high performing team and market-leading agency
