A unique opportunity has arisen for a confident and charismatic part-time editor for a luxury Sussex lifestyle magazine. This is a home-based role, so they are looking for an experienced and self-motivated writer/journalist who can hit the ground running, and be comfortable working on your own, but also be available to meet up with their Kent and Sussex teams for regular meetings and working days at various locations.

Duties will include:

- Feature planning, writing, proofing
- Relationship-building with Sussex businesses, attractions and PR professionals
- Liaising with magazine account managers to plan available space and features
- Liaising with production staff and designers
- Attending press events (both during business hours and evenings/weekends when required)
- Reviewing various Sussex events, restaurants, attractions, product/venue launches, accommodation, etc and writing interesting and original content based on your experiences
- Performing routine administrative tasks such as email correspondence, coordinating prize giveaways, posting magazines, and dealing with general editorial enquiries
- Playing an integral part in social media development
- Updating the magazine blog
- Supporting the editorial and publishing directors as required

'Deadline' is their middle name, so you need to be impeccably organised to ensure you and the rest of the team (including account managers and freelancers) are all kept on track.

This is a part-time position working from home with flexible hours (approximately 20-25 hours per week), and has the potential to turn into a full-time role in the future.

Required skills, experience and qualities:

- Enthusiastic, reliable, hard-working and self-motivated
- Passionate about Sussex, and excited to get out and about in the county and be the face of a high-end luxury magazine
- Impeccable grammar and proofing skills
- Exceptional writer with a portfolio of published work - experience of writing editorial reviews and advertorials is a bonus
- Proven track record of being able to prioritise, juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines with exceptional attention to detail
- Great schmoozing skills, as you'll be required to attend meetings and regular press events

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established and rapidly expanding publishing company. If the above sounds like your perfect job, please send over your covering letter within your CV and three samples of your writing.
