This company is a world leader in supplying Natural History, Ecology and Conservation books and equipment to institutions, retailers, companies, libraries, academics and private customers around the world. They are growing and need to strengthen their IT team.

What they are looking for

They seek a developer to work full-time in employment in their offices in Totnes, Devon. Working as part of their small in-house development team, the appointee will be responsible for building new web functionality to assist online sales, marketing, order processing and customer management. This is a very versatile role and a great opportunity to learn how a modern e-commerce business works from the ground up.

They break work down into small fast projects and rapidly implement core functionality. You need to be able to deliver innovative solutions on time and be happy pitching in with a wide range of IT odds and ends e.g. systems admin, hardware admin, testing etc.

Requirements:

- Experience with PHP, JavaScript, JQuery, MySQL, CSS, Git and OOP is preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with non-IT colleagues and customers
- You are passionate about software development
- Willingness to learn new skills on the job

The warehouse and office is based in the beautiful town Totnes, commutable from Exeter and Plymouth. The successful candidate will be joining a diverse and friendly workforce of 22 staff in an open office environment. This position reports to the Senior Manager (IT & Systems).

Ideally they are looking to fill this position as soon as possible. Salary: £16000 - £20000 depending on experience. It is based on a 37.5 hour week with the 28 days holiday p.a, including bank holidays.
