MacRail Systems is a family run, IT based company with around 130 employees nationally. We are currently recruiting Railway Site Access Controller’s to work on railway engineering sites around the Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall areas.

As a Railway Site Access Controller you are responsible for signing in railway workers and updating our system with work progress. therefore allowing our client to be kept up to date with how their sites are progressing. Experience of the rail industry and/or site access is desirable, although not essential as full training is provided.

Railway Site Access Controller’s must ensure that all the workforce signing on to the site are qualified to work, have the correct Personal Protective Equipment and are read a health and safety brief.

To carry out this role Railway Site Access Controllers will need to have the following skills:

  • IT literacy

  • Attention to detail - crucial as you input information into a computer

  • Ability to gain and extract information

  • Competent to deal with a groups of people, including delivering important Health & Safety information

  • Being professional at all times - you will be representing both MacRail and the client

  • Problem solving

  • You must have a full UK driving license and have access to a car

 

Terms and Conditions:

This position is generally weekends (Friday p.m. - Monday a.m.) both days and nights, with some midweek work up until Christmas 2015.

Shifts are generally between 10 and 12 hours in length. Ideally you will be seeking 2-4 shifts per week and where possible will be flexible to work across the whole week.

Site Access Controllers are employed on casual zero hour contracts on a permanent basis and paid monthly. Holiday pay is accrued and paid as requested.
 

This job would suit someone who is looking for ad hoc work.

Rates of pay:

Training                                             £7.00

Midweek Days                                  £8.39

Midweek Nights                                £8.57

Weekends                                        £10.05

The area of work will vary week to week and so candidates will be required to have their own independent transport and be willing to travel up to 60 miles. Mileage is paid at 25p per mile and also paid monthly. In some circumstances accommodation can be arranged as necessary.

Full uniform and equipment are provided.
