Salary Range

Trainer level 1- £23,073.70 - £26,157.89 per annum (Subject to job evaluation)
Trainer level 2- £26,671.25 - £29,241.07 per annum (Subject to job evaluation)
Permanent –37 hours per week

As the largest national provider of Offender Learning in the UK, our client’s Justice Division delivers learning and skills to offenders across a range of custodial and community settings, working in partnership with Her Majesty's Prisons and Probation.  Their work improves the learning and skills of offenders and enhances their employment opportunities to reduce reoffending, they make a difference.

They now have an exciting opportunity within the College for a self-driven and enthusiastic individual, who feels like they can make a difference to join us as a Trainer in Plastering to work within HM Prison Hindley.

The purpose of this role is to deliver interesting, high quality vocational training to engage our learners in line with the Awarding Body standards and College policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities (but not limited to) are as follows:

• Plan, organise and deliver a vocational competency based curriculum up to Level 3
• Within a Scheme of Work, develop lesson plans to ensure compliance with curriculum best
   practice and quality targets
• Ensure the safeguarding of learners
• Work collaboratively with Functional skills tutors/Learning Support Practitioners to support
   literacy, language and numeracy skills within the programme.

The salary scale for the successful candidate is dependent on current qualifications. All Trainers must have at least 2 years’ experience in the vocational area and be willing to work towards relevant qualifications as specified in the role profile.

To qualify for the level 2 salary you will:

• Hold a qualification to allow the delivery of accreditation in the relevant vocational area to Level 3
• Hold an Assessor award required by Awarding Bodies, if relevant
• Hold PTLLS qualification
• To hold or commit to gain an Internal Verifier award within 1 year (dependent upon course
   accreditation requirements)
• Hold at least a Level 1 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
• Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy or be willing to commit to gaining the
   qualification(s) within 1 year
