This role will manage independently the production of books from receipt of manuscripts to final print (working with manufacturing) and digital publication in a timely fashion to an agreed standard of quality, cost, budgeted extent and to agreed schedules. 

Other key aspects of the role include maintaining management and administrative systems, liaising with project/development editors, authors, book editors, suppliers and internal departments, vendor management and controlling costs and schedules.

Book Production Editor Selection Criteria:

> Experience in publishing is essential as is experience and knowledge of the production and editorial processes
> Good knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
> The ability to work on own initiative and solve problems
> Strong communication and interpersonal skills
> Good written and verbal communication
> The ability to manage own workload and prioritise accordingly
> An understanding of the systems used to enter and access information about the publishing process
> An understanding of the various components and timings of the production process
> An understanding of how the needs of marketing and sales influence the production scheduled and how the process differs between electronic and print product production.
> Education to degree level or equivalent
> Experience of working with authors, editors and contributors would be desirable as would the experience of handling multiple projects
