Weighbridge Operator

Wick

£9-11 p/h DOE

Working Hours 7am to 6pm (but may be flexibility in these)

Job Purpose:
The primary role of the weighbridge operator is to greet customers internally and externally and to accurately record weight data using a Windows based computer system as vehicles deliver or remove materials to and from the site. The role will include controlling and coordinating movements on and off sites so that all acceptable materials entering or leaving the site are recorded and accounted for.

This is a front line role where customer service is of paramount importance.

Key Accountabilities:
* To produce an accurate weighbridge ticket for all loads entering and leaving the site and directing traffic onto the weighbridge
* To identify the customer account and material and ensure that the correct vehicle registration, customer, product, haulier, source/destination & order number is recorded along with the driver signature.
* To ensure that all drivers and visitors are wearing appropriate PPE and are driving within acceptable standards including adhering to the site rules on speed and vehicle routes.
* To notify the driver when the vehicle is over-weight.
* To keep the weighbridge balanced and reading zero and notify your manager of any operational problems with the weighbridge (inaccuracies, damage, cleanliness etc.).
* Ensure outbound documentation is completed accurately and completely in accordance with applicable legislation.
* Maintain the weighbridge cabin in a clean and tidy manner which is free from hazards
* Issuing site rules and instructions to drivers and visitors.
* Answering the telephone in a professional manner.
* To assist with other basic administrative duties within the team during times when the weighbridge is quiet.
* Collate monthly data and management information as requested by the Management Team
* Credit Control


Knowledge and Experience (Minimum):
* Qualified to GCSE/A level standard
* High level of numeracy and literacy skills.
* High level of computer literacy.
* Ability to work in a busy environment whilst ensuring the highest standards of accuracy.
* Good communication skills.
* Flexible towards working hours to ensure the smooth operation of the facility
