The Senior Systems Administrator Role:

The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for handling and co-ordinating technical queries and tasks raised directly by customers and also in the diagnosing and trouble shooting of those issues. 

You should be extremely customer focussed and have a good working knowledge of server administration with in depth Windows and/or Linux skills, as well as the DNS system, MTAs, MDAs, Web- and FTP-servers, along with a technically confident attitude. You will also be responsible for assisting the Systems Administrators where possible, aiding them in their skill development and keeping them up to date on working systems and processes. You will also be responsible for triaging and prioritising incoming customer support requests. You will be responsible for writing up reasons for outages (RFOs) to send to customers in the event of outages.

We expect a Senior Systems Administrator to be able to handle any given technical issue that may come up in the business from end-to-end using resources at their disposal with the minimum of assistance.

Senior Systems Administrator Knowledge, Skills & Experience: 

> Linux Experience, especially using Ubuntu Linux and/or Windows Server, SQL Server
> Exposure to cPanel advantageous
> Technical knowledge of DNS, Email, FTP- and Web-servers and general system administration
> Working knowledge of virtualisation
> Working knowledge of TCP/IP Networking
> Working knowledge of computer hardware
> Possess a natural initiative and pro-activeness to your method of working, be open to new ideas
> A good telephone manner and friendly approach is also essential. 
> Be fluent in written and spoken English
> An enthusiastic, driven, committed & flexible approach to work 
> Excellent customer service skills required with a good telephone manner.
> Must be a team player but also able to work autonomously & with minimal supervision
> Ability to work well to deadlines and under pressure
> Experience of working within an ITIL/ISO framework an advantage (not essential)
> An element of commercial/ business knowledge
> Degree or equivalent experience
> Professional Qualifications: CCNA, MCP, RHCE, CEH or similar are desirable
> Must have clean driving licence and able to travel
