The opportunity

We are a global market research company providing market research and consulting services to the crop, biotechnology and animal health industries, looking to appoint an HR professional to head up the new Global HR function.

The role

You will be responsible for creating and implementing a people plan which takes account of the Company Strategy, business needs and the wider HR agenda. Whilst overall employee numbers are not large at the moment (c.215 full time employees and similar numbers of contractors) we are based in 15 countries across the globe so this is a truly multi-site, global HR role.

This is both a hands-on and strategic role where you will be responsible for building a strong global HR infrastructure. Working closely with the local Management Team in each location to deliver on all elements of HR. From process and planning through to reward and talent management, as well as effective employee relations and HR projects - you will be responsible for it all. Reporting directly into the Managing Director, this role will allow you autonomy to build a first class HR function.

Regardless of your industry background, you will be a highly experienced HR professional, who is a self-starter and able to build HR functions from scratch. You will enjoy a challenge, have high energy, be comfortable with HR systems, as well as have an eye for detail and appreciation for a highly commercial business.

With exceptional communication skills and a strong personality you will:

- Be a generalist HR Manager (MCIPD preferred)
- Have a track record in handling ambiguity/working with little structure and creating your own momentum
- Demonstrate a good understanding or experience of delivering effective HR in an international organisation combined with a strong commercial acumen
- Have run HR on a multi-site, multi-country basis
- Experience of HR in either France, Germany or China would be an advantage
- Be as comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in as you are with strategic work.
- Possess an ability to build strong strategic working relationships, & liaise with different cultures and characters.
