HR Assistant - 12 Months Fixed Term Contract
Department / Function: Corporate ~ HR
Location: Leeds
Hours: Full-time

The company, a leading innovator in the global lottery and regulated gaming industries, is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to assist with a period of maternity cover lasting 12 months. The purpose of the role is to provide a professional, quality HR administrative service to both the HR team and all of its internal customers.

Duties are varied and will include:
* Producing regular management reports
* Maintaining up to date employee records (paper and electronic) and processing new starters and leavers on the HR Information System.
* Assisting managers with recruitment processes by shortlisting candidates, arranging interviews and tests, and note-taking.
* Carrying out pre-employment background checks and new employee inductions.
* Attending investigation and disciplinary hearings and taking notes
* Daily attendance monitoring - entering absences into the HR Information System, monitoring patterns, requesting sick notes and assisting managers/supervisors with managing frequent/long term absences.
* Co-ordinating internal communication to employees, including mailshots.
* Assisting with the organisation of annual appraisals
* Maintaining up-to-date training records
* Maintaining up to-date job descriptions and person specifications for all live roles.

In order to be considered for this role, you must possess the following:
* Experience of working within a HR role in an administrative capacity.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to prioritise workload when faced with conflicting deadlines.
* Ability to handle sensitive information, remaining confidential at all times.
