Head Butcher

The Blagdon Farm Shop is an award winning farm shop 6 miles north of Newcastle. Due to expansion we are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced retail Head Butcher to be responsible for the daily running of the butchery department reporting to the Butchery Manager.

Delivering outstanding customer service, you will be fully competent in all aspects of butchery including carcase breakdown, sausage and bacon manufacture, producing outstanding displays and creating new products in line with customer demand.

The efficient and effective running of the department will include maintaining costings and margins, stock ordering and management, compliance of HACCP and H & S and motivating and supervising a willing team.

You will have a recognised butchery qualifi cation or at least 3 years experience in a high end retail environment ideally in a supervisory/management capacity, with great organisational skills, a good work ethic and an interest in cooking.

Full time permanent role. Good salary depending on experience.
