Technical Optimisation Engineer - Energy & Recycling. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Technical Team in Energy & Recycling, providing support to the region's largest Wastewater Treatment Works and Sludge Treatment Facilities. You will be part of a dynamic and highly competent team delivering reactive and proactive support to our operational colleagues. Salary £33,000 - £37,000 dependent on experience

Salary & Benefits - £33,000 - £37,000 dependent on experience + attractive pension + quarterly performance related bonus + 25 days holiday

What will the role involve?

- Providing support to the Energy & Recycling operational teams in technical fields such as treatment and compliance, sludge and energy generation, energy efficiency and other areas

- Creating business cases for new or replacement assets or plant

- Working towards releasing the savings potential of capital investments

- Providing operational support for new processes

- Being able to undertake investigations and understand the root causes of underlying problems which may be affecting performance

- Ensuring that the business is prepared to meet challenging business plans

- Providing support to the business on strategy when required

- Providing support to the wider Energy & Recycling team when required

You will drive excellent standards and performance in health and safety, risk management and control of work and ensure compliance with the YW Safety Policy.

What skills are we looking for?

Essentially you will have the following:

- Technical knowledge of either sludge and energy generation, treatment and compliance, energy efficiency, project implementation and/or cultural change

- Understanding of the values, behaviours and practices which support operational excellence

- Experience of working within an asset management environment

- Ability to engage and communicate effectively with key operational and delivery partners (internal)

- Can identify poor performance, act on it and work with colleagues to improve

- Ability to build quality business cases

- Clearly demonstrates the Yorkshire Water company values and behaviours.

Ideally you will have the following:

- Familiarity with opportunities and constraints around sewage treatment and sludge strategy

- Experience of working with capital partners and external agencies

- Previous experience in an operational/delivery or operational asset management role

- Previous experience gained within the utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors

- Previous experience in coaching and/or training individuals and groups.

A full valid EU driving licence is required for this role.
