FINTEC recruit is seeking a Product Development Technologist for our client who design and manufacture industrial textile products. This is a permanent role based in South West Scotland with a salary range £35,000 - £40,000 dependent upon experience. A generous benefits package is available and relocation assistance may be available to the right candidate.
Role and Responsibilities
- Design, testing and specification of textiles for global development projects
- Develop new textile technologies with universities, external suppliers and internal development groups to meet new product requirements
- Commercialise new technologies into volume production
- Provide technical support to the Product Engineering Group benchmarking competitor technology
- Manage projects within budget and timescales to comply with ISO and internal standards and policies
- Coordinate activity of development technicians to support projects
The ideal candidate for the Product Development Technologist role will have
- A Degree or MSc in Textile Technology, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry or equivalent
- Several years experience designing technical textiles or textile reinforced composites in a manufacturing environment
- Experience of product testing
- A proven ability to perform data analysis and data driven problem solving using DFSS, FMEA
- The capability to maintain records to ISO/TS standards/requirements
- A high level of computer literacy and capability, especially MS Excel, Project and PowerPoint
