An opportunity has arisen to join Matrix Networks as a CAD Technician based in Warrington. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £18,000- £23,000 per annum.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Matrix Networks which is a national company specialising in the installation of utility infrastructure across a diverse range of sectors, such as retail, industrial, leisure, commercial, education, local government and renewable energy.

The CAD Technician key responsibilities will include the following:

- Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Matrix and its customers.

- The CAD Technician will use site surveys, existing plans, drawings and technical knowledge to prepare designs and schemes of work and constructing workable plans.

- Completing all tasks and work to a high standard, and identifying and implementing areas of improvement in Matrix’s processes and operations.

- Assisting in producing H&S and CDM plans and files for projects in accordance with relevant regulations, ensuring that safety, health and environment are taken into account at the design stage wherever possible.

- Implement Matrix’s, and our customers, safety rules, instructions, standing orders and procedures.

- Take an overview of work activities to be completed and plan accordingly for effective and timely completion of work, whilst liaising closely with MU Designers and the Commercial Director to understand and manage priorities arising, also ensuring that up to date plans are available.

The CAD Technician will be required to work as part of a team to ensure safe, effective and efficient implementation of Matrix’s operations, liaising with customer’s design team and following customer’s specification in preparing designs, and contributing to the wider team: sharing knowledge and experience based on expertise.

The successful CAD Technician will have the following skills and experience:

- Technically qualified with a City & Guilds Level 3 award in 2D CAD qualification in construction.

- A qualification in technical drawing would be desirable.

- Experience of working on projects in the construction or electricity industries, and be experienced in design work on all voltages up to 33kV.

- Experience of civil works is also advantageous.

- Sound knowledge of H&S and its practical implications and knowledge of CDM regulations.

- Highly customer focussed, showing initiative and be organised.

- Good team player and have the ability to communicate effectively.
