Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To promote the 'Support to Achieve Programme' across the College and its various Centres
- To receive allocated referrals and set up individual appointments
- To assess the needs of referred students and formulate an action plan for the approval of and monitoring by the Head of Learning Support
- To work with a designated case load of students either in groups or individually, providing targeted support
- To maintain liaison with the Head of Learning Support and keep written records as requested and required for audit purposes e.g. daily records of contact and student reviews
- To undertake any specialist training as required some of which may be outside the normal hours of working
- To support, train and advise subsequent mentors
- To work at any of the College Centres including any outreach centres
- To attend staff meetings and College Training Days as required
- To inform relevant staff on matters concerning the welfare of students and contribute to a safe working environment for students, staff and others
- To encourage self-esteem in students, respect for others and a sense of responsibility within the College and its communities
- To liaise with outside agencies
- Planning and attending PEP meetings with local authorities
