Peabody has an exciting opportunity and is looking for a Facilities Assistant based in London. The successful applicant will join us on a part-time, permanent basis and will receive £3,864 per annum.

We are currently recruiting for three Facilities Assistants to work with us on an annualised hours basis. On this annualised hours contract you are paid to work an average of up to 270 hours over the year at £11.50per hour. There will be a combination of compulsory and flexible hours that you will be required to work. This way of working will provide you with guaranteed income for the year and support your work-life balance as well as enabling the business to meet service user needs. You will be required to work during peak periods of the business and provide cover for employee sickness absence, annual leave and any other absences.

Three exciting new opportunities to support the delivery of the evening operation has arisen at both the Darwin Court Healthy Living Centre and the Sundial Centre. The post holders will provide high quality operational support to both centres which are a focus for community groups, as well as a space for residents, user-led activities and social events. Facilities and activities can be attended both by the general public and by Peabody residents, all in aim of encouraging individuals to maximise their health, wellbeing and independence and providing them with the necessary resources and opportunities.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience gathered by our ideal Facilities Assistant:

- Cleaning all common areas of the centre to a high standard, complying with acknowledged best practice in the use of all materials and equipment

- Inspecting, on a daily basis, all external and internal areas of the residential buildings and reporting any defects, security or health and safety concerns to the Facility Supervisor

- Providing a high level of customer service at the centre, covering the reception desk when necessary

- Acting in a courteous and helpful manner to all residents in addition to members of the public, other staff, guests, and to contractors employed on the development

- Ensuring the centre is a well-managed, safe, clean and secure environment in which to live and work.

- Promoting a happy and professional working environment conductive to high staff morale, paying particular attention to ensuring good inter-staff communications.

- Ability to maintain clear and accurate records

- Basic IT skills (including word and excel), numeracy and literacy

- Ensure that daily equipment / facility set ups are completed on time and to a the correct specification

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience gathered by our ideal Facilities Assistant:

- Experience of working in community development or community/hub setting.

- First Aid Certificate or ability to work towards

- COSHH Assessor qualification or ability to work towards.

- Experience of working with children and / or vulnerable adults

Shift Hours - You will be required to be available to work a maximum 8 hour shift between 7.45am - 8.15pm, Monday - Friday.
