Peabody has an exciting opportunity and is looking for a Service Charge Accountant based in London. The successful applicant will join us on a full time, 6 month fixed-term contract and will receive £30,474 - £32,000 pro rata per annum.

We are currently recruiting for a Service Charge Accountant, to be responsible for the implementation, calculation, administration and reporting of timely and accurate service charges in line with statutory, legal contractual and policy requirement whilst dealing with any enquiries that may arise.

Knowledge, Skills and experience required by our ideal Service Charge Accountant:

- Sound knowledge of the calculation and notification of fixed and variable service charges.

- Sound knowledge and experience of the law and practical application in relation to fixed and variable service charges.

- Knowledge of accounting systems (preferably SUN) including the ability to interpret invoice and journal documentation.

- Experience in the administration of reserves (sinking funds) and depreciation.

- Proven ability to explain financial data to those not familiar with financial processes in both written and verbal context.

- High attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines.

- Demonstrable high levels of customer service even in difficult and challenging circumstances.

- Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, at all levels.

- Experience of representing Landlords in relation to service charge disputes at the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal (LVT).

- Excellent IT skills including intermediate level computer literacy in Microsoft Office Word & Excel.

Qualifications required by our ideal Service Charge Accountant:

- Qualified/part qualified accountant or relevant practical experience
