Our client is now seeking a new Commercial Manager to identify and secure profitable quality materials from corporate customers to feed their Newhouse Glass Recycling Center. The role will involve preparing budgets and forecasts, evaluating commercial opportunities and financial controls within agreed parameters.

Our client's advanced glass recycling facilities deliver cutting-edge glass sorting technology and ensure that more than 99% of incoming material is recycled. Their facilities have the capacity to treat up to 100,000 tonnes of glass a year delivered from domestic and business collections and MRFs throughout the UK. They then process them into high quality raw materials for the glass container and fibreglass markets.

The position would suit a strong commercially astute negotiator who has the ability to build strong relationships and influence others. Knowledge the recycling market and Waste production is crucial to the role alongside proven sales experience and working on bid and tender submissions.

The position will be working 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday and in return they can offer an attractive salary, company car and benefits package.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Building solid relationships with new and existing customers through regular direct and indirect contact.
  • Securing profitable long term contracted new business within authorised price matrices and liaise with key suppliers and partner organisations.
  • Identifying tenders and contracts that will fit within their portfolio, requesting PQQs and ITTs in a timely manner and assist in the completion of the relevant documents.
  • Collating and provide business intelligence on all recycling material types, values, customers and competitors at a regional level.
  • Maintaining an effective relationship with each company department to ensure the best level of communication, service and response for the customer at all times.

Skills / Experience:

  • Proven sales experience and of working on bid and tender submissions.
  • Educated to an A level or higher qualification (or similar)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work to agreed targets and deadlines
  • Experience of working in a fast paced environment.
  • A Full Driving Licence is essential to the role
