If your building maintenance or construction experience has been gained working in a social housing environment, consider a move to Richmond Fellowship. One of the largest voluntary sector providers of mental health services in England, we’re looking for an accomplished Maintenance Surveyor to play a vital role within our Property Services team.
As a Maintenance Surveyor, you’ll manage revenue investment programmes and contracts related to the delivery of cyclical decoration servicing and major void works on a day-to-day basis. You’ll also:
- Help deliver an efficient, responsive and professional maintenance service
- Effectively manage contractors appointed to carry out improvements and repairs to Richmond Fellowship’s assets
- Monitor expenditure within approved budgets and ensure appropriate quality checks are in place to assess the standard of completed work
- Identify and assess investment, cyclical repairs and future maintenance required and provide information to help shape our Asset Management strategy
- Carry out completed property hand over inspections and agree completed works for authorisation and payment
- Get involved in ad-hoc building maintenance projects such as the design and preparation of specifications and contract administration
- Engage with internal and external customers at every opportunity and ensure a ‘right first time’ approach to all activities.
To succeed as a Maintenance Surveyor, you’ll need experience of specifying and ordering of works, control of programme and cost monitoring against budget, plus a competent standard of drafting. You’ll also need:
- A demonstrable ability to manage the landlord/tenant relationship and work to recognised housing management processes
- A good understanding of stock condition surveys and how to manage property related data
- Experience of contract administration, the management of individual project budgets and the use of schedules of rates for commissioning housing repairs
- Good IT skills and proficiency using PC based information systems
- A flair for planning and programming work within a partnership working environment
- Strong communication skills, lots of initiative and a real commitment to delivering a quality customer service that’s empathetic to the needs of vulnerable customers
- The ability to drive and use your own vehicle for work and willingness to sometimes attend out of hours meetings
- The ability to travel across Northern England
Richmond Fellowship, along with its partners, champions social inclusion and recovery and provides a diverse range of residential, community and employment services.
