Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties PMLD TA

A Special school in Leeds that caters for pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Autism (ASD) is looking for an SEN teaching assistant to join their dedicated team of staff. The role is full-time and is to start as soon as possible until at least October 2015.

The school requires a teaching assistant to work in a PMLD class with secondary aged pupils. However, due to their needs being very complex, they will be performing at a much lower level of ability. Training in moving and handling, personal care, Team Teach, Makaton and PECS is highly sought after but not all above skills are essential.

The ideal candidate must be able to inspire and motivate the children through creative methods and for the right person, this is a great opportunity to work within a supportive team in a challenging and rewarding role.
