Salary Range: £23,073.70 - £28,213.34 per annum (Subject to job evaluation)
Type of Employment: Temporary (maternity cover, approximately 18 months)
Hours: 37 per week

They are proud to deliver learning and skills in over 60 sites within Her Majesty's Prisons, private sector prisons, Approved Premises and the community. Working closely with stakeholders, they aim to provide locally determined, high quality provision which meets the needs and interests of learners.
Having recently been awarded the new Young Offenders Institution contract at HMYOI Wetherby, they are seeking to appoint a full time, Teacher to deliver Maths. This is a temporary role for approximately 18 months to cover maternity leave.
The purpose of this role is to develop and teach high quality, learner focused education to meet contractual requirements and standards in line with the national curriculum framework, policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to) include:
- Teaching designated hours as required, with a flexible approach to delivering across curriculum areas as needed to fulfil contractual requirements Developing or contributing to a scheme of work and developing lesson plans to ensure compliance with national curriculum best practice and quality targets Preparing up to date and appropriate, teaching materials and assessments Teaching using a variety of methods, including formal lessons, discussions, practical activities, projects and assignments, taking into account the differences between individual Young People
As a successful candidate you will:
- Hold a teaching qualification (minimum Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent) Hold QTS / QTLS Have a degree or equivalent subject specialist qualification or be willing to work towards this within a specified timescale Have a track record of teaching national curriculum to a good or outstanding standard Hold level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy
- Gain/hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
