Building Surveyor, Salary; £25-33k DOE + car allowance, pension & healthcare, Based; Hemel Hempstead

A National Property Management Company are looking to recruit a degree-qualified or chartered surveyor, to be based in Hemel Hempstead. You will be a member of a small but motivated team of surveyors who provide in-house surveying services to a large portfolio of managed estates across England and Wales

Building Surveyor Key duties;

  • Undertaking fire risk and health & safety assessments of blocks of flats across the south of England and south Wales;
  • Contract administration of redecoration and refurbishment works;
  •  Inspecting and reporting upon building defects, and implementing remedial works;
  • Analysis of proposed alterations by leaseholders, and issuing licences;
  • Snagging new-build estates at handover from developers;
  • Provide advice to the estate management team and the in-house legal department on building technology.

Building Surveyor Requirements;

The successful applicant will ideally be a MRICS Chartered Surveyor with a minimum of one year PQE.  However suitably experienced, degree-qualified surveyors who are undergoing APC training will also be considered (the company are a RICS APC training provider).  Ideally you will also have a qualification in fire risk assessment, and/or a NEBOSH level or equivalent in health & safety. You must be willing to participate in the company in-house training programme, and be flexible to travel throughout the portfolio across southern England and Wales. 

On a personal level you must have good communication skills, verbal and written. The ability to produce accurate and coherent written reports is vital, as is the ability to work well in a multi-disciplined company.

Building Surveyor Package

Salary with be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and in the range £25,000 to £33,000 + car allowance.  The company also runs pension and healthcare schemes which the successful candidate would be eligible to join after completing six months’ probation.
