C / C++ Software Engineers needed with experience of developing complex Linux based systems and software.

Joining a new Tools Team, working on projects at the very forefront of IoT and Inteligent Cities and developing complex system-wide tools are just some of the challenges on offer to the high calibre software tools developers that join this exciting company.

This is a rare opportunity for experienced Software Engineers with in-depth C and C++ development experience to join an expanding and profitable company at the absolute cutting edge of commercial smart city and other wide area internet of things (IoT) applications.

They are putting together a new tools team within their software group to enable more focus on the system-wide tools for their low power wide area network technology with the initial work being on their radio network planning and lab based network emulation tools. However, the scope of the role will be system-wide.

The calibre of the development team and the complexity of the work means that the successful applicant will need -


Essential

*2.1 degree in a numerate / computer science related subject (or equivalent experience)
*software development using languages such as C/C++ and scripting languages
*experience with the Linux/UNIX operating system as a developer
*experience of the complete architecture, design, documentation, coding, testing lifecycle
*software testing: unit, functional, regression, acceptance

In fact, an all-round capable Software Engineers with a track record of building complex systems.

Desirable

*knowledge of network protocol stacks
*knowledge of GIS systems
*Python/scripting languages
*software team leadership experience
*development tools design experience
*ability to learn new technologies quickly to react to changing demands
*experience with optimising code: finding bottlenecks and fixing them
