Area Sales Manager - Central Region (M62, M1 Corridor)

Calder Industrial Materials are one of the UK's leading building materials suppliers, delivering lead sheet and a wide range of ancillary products to builders' merchants nationwide. In addition, Calder are also the UK's leading specialist in lead engineering.  The company designs, manufactures and installs radiation shielding and other products in the nuclear, medical and other markets.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, as the Area Sales Manager for the Central Region of the UK, you will work autonomously with your responsibilities spanning; relationship building and management of existing and future customer base, developing value added business, maintaining competitor awareness, and working closely with the wider Sales Team and other stakeholders to ensure continued improvement of customer service.

Your duties will include, although not be limited to;

  • Visiting builders merchants within the region to maintain and build new relationships
  • Maintaining and developing sales and margin levels with existing customer base
  • Identifying new potential business opportunities on all products supplied
  • Ensuring improvement of customer service delivery
  • Developing value added business
  • Supporting business development strategy
  • Liaising with the Sales Office Team for support
  • Maintaining up-to-date CRM records
  • Reporting on activity and performance to agreed weekly plan

To be considered for this Area Sales Manager role you will have the following experience, skills, knowledge and attributes;

  • Proven track record in delivering results and exceeding targets within a field based sales role
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Proactive and forward thinking approach to work
  • Excellent negotiation, time management, and organisational skills
  • Team player within ability to work unsupervised using own initiative
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Minimum 5 GCSE's or equivalent
  • Full UK driving licence

Knowledge of the roofing sector is highly desirable.

Salary:                          Competitive, level dependent on experience

Additional Benefits:       Company car, mobile phone, laptop, 25 days annual leave plus statutory holidays, and contributory pension scheme following successful probation period.

Hours of Work:             Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, (flexibility will be required to meet customer needs).

Contracted Hours:         35 hours per week
