The Oldham Pathway team are looking for a Night Support Worker to join their team on a fixed term basis for a period of 18 months. The role is a full time position offering a salary of £16,998pa + pension & other benefits.

Night Support Worker – The Role

We require a person who is committed to working with homeless and often difficult to engage young people from the age of 16 through to 23, who have a range of issues and complex needs. You will be working with young people on single cover at night, who have either been homeless or lived in the care system, may have mental health needs or alcohol or drug issues, or struggle to engage in training or employment.

You will report to the Senior Project Workers and the Pathway Manager. Depaul UK recognises, that it will be your attitude and ability to engage marginalised young people and continue to work alongside them through a difficult transitional period in their lives that will be your most valuable asset. This role is about engaging with young people whilst maintaining theirs and the Project’s safety. 

Night Support Worker - To be a success in this role you will:

- Have experience of working with either homeless or vulnerable young people or care leavers.

- Be responsible for maintaining the safety of the 24 hour staffed accommodation Project at night on a wake-in shift. This means ensuring the Project is safe and secure, health and safety standards are maintained and young people are accounted for in terms of their individual curfews.

- Recognise safeguarding issues appropriately, be vigilant in how you work with young people to ensure relevant information is recorded and passed on to your colleagues and the police as necessary.
