Upton Court Educational Trust is seeking to appoint to the following roles for the right people to join our dynamic and committed Support Team. The successful candidate must have a level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Pay & Conditions: Salary Grade 2-4 (full time equivalent: £15019 - £20881; actual for term time working: £9011.40 - £12582.60) Term time (38 weeks)
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9am – 3.20pm, Wednesday: 9am – 3.30pm, Friday: 9am – 3pm. (5 x 20 minute breaks, unpaid; 3 x 1hour lunch breaks, unpaid; 2 x 40 minute lunch breaks, unpaid)
Location: Upton Court Grammar School
We are looking for staff who have the appropriate personal characteristics, experience, knowledge and skills in order that they can provide flexible support to students in KS3, 4 & 5 who have a wide variety of Special Educational Needs. The position would suit someone who has a desire to help and encourage students to reach their full potential. As well as working as part of the SEND team, the successful candidate will work in partnership with the classroom teacher to develop and deliver an individual programme of learning within the classroom setting across all subjects of the curriculum and will also:
• Work under the direct instruction of teaching staff to undertake support programmes, to enable access to learning for students
• Be committed to developing pupils as independent learners and thinkers
• Assist in the positive behaviour management requirements in the classroom
• Assist with the promotion of inclusion for all students including those with Learning difficulties and disabilities within the whole life of the school
