A great opportunity has arisen for a Human Resources Officer to join a close knit team in St Helens, Merseyside. Earning £27,000 to £35,000 dependent on experience, the successful Human Resources Officer will be the sole HR representative for the organisation’s site in a standalone role. It is therefore essential that you can hit the ground running, however, there will be remote support from a HR Officer at another of the company’s sites.
As Human Resources Officer you will take responsibility for providing HR support services at the site in St Helens, while providing remote support to other sites. In addition, you will support the Payroll Officer and occasionally provide cover in their absence. Reporting to the organisation’s Chief Financial Officer, the successful Human Resources Officer will also be responsible for:
There will be a two-stage interview process. First interviews will take place on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th August 2015. The second stage interview will take place on Tuesday 18th August 2015.
As Human Resources Officer you will take responsibility for providing HR support services at the site in St Helens, while providing remote support to other sites. Reporting to the organisation’s Chief Financial Officer, the successful Human Resources Officer will also be responsible for:
- Administrating permanent and temporary staff
- Responding to queries from staff and management on terms and conditions of employment
- Learning the aspects of in-house payroll provision
- Advising and supporting managers with disciplinary and grievance matters
- Facilitating regular one to ones and supporting performance management
- Up keeping and administrating all HR systems
- Supporting HR specific projects as required and providing system data
- Giving advice to department managers in employment matters
- Assisting in recruitment of staff as required
- Keeping own knowledge of employment law up-to-date
- Preparing and delivering staff training and workshops
- Attending HR meetings and travelling to other locations on a limited basis
- Ideally fully CIPD Qualified or working towards this qualification
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation
- Discreet, diplomatic and confidential at all times in line with Data Protection legislation
- Ability to influence with excellent communication skills
- Understanding of the key elements of payroll provision and experience of resolving payroll queries and associated calculations
- Proven ability and enjoy working with HR systems
- Ability to work under pressure, to deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to work independently and organise own workload and to prioritise, must be flexible
