General Operative

Staffline are currently recruiting General Operatives to work at our client’s busy site based in Carlisle.

The main duty of the role will be to carry out all processing of ready-made meals whilst working in a chilled environment. Candidates must ensure there is no contamination of the product at all stages of the production process, reporting any possible contamination to the supervisor. Candidates will also be required to maintain all equipment and machinery, making sure it always meets hygiene standards, reporting any faults to the supervisor.

Other duties will include:

• Only using factory machinery (including vehicles) on which you have been trained and authorised.
• Assisting with duties within packaging area as requested to include packing, loading and unloading of product.
• Assisting with cleaning duties of all factory areas when required.
• Adhering to all company Health & Safety and Food Hygiene Policies
• Any other relevant duties as requested by management.
• Applicants will be responsible for site cleaning both inside and outside the factory. When working inside the factory, strict hygiene and Health and safety procedures must be followed as it is a food production site. Responsibilities include, cleaning machines, rooms, bins, yard areas, sweeping and disposing of rubbish. 
  
  You will be required to work weekends Saturday or Sunday or both 6am-6pm, and the other shifts available are 06.00-14.00 or 14.00-22.00 Monday to Friday and 22.00-06.00 Sunday to Thursday. 
  
  The rate of pay is £6.50 per hour.
