The Area Manager is an important strategic role overseeing a geographical or thematic area of work in line with the Organisation's Business and Growth Plan.
The post-holder will oversee the work of service and/or project managers and be accountable to a Director of Services.
Brief Responsibilities
- To be responsible for implementing the organisational strategic plan for services at a local and regional level
- To provide strategic direction and operational management to specified charities including monitoring of performance of individual centres against their annual delivery plans.
- To provide line management for specified service and project managers ensuring that they are supported so that they can manage their services effectively, contract outcome measures are met and managers are delivering in line with budgets.
- To shape, innovate and ensure evidence based best practice.
- Preparation and oversight of annual business plans for each of the services.
- Ensure all requirements within contracts are met, e.g. H&S, Safeguarding, quality, outcomes and outputs and Payment by Results where required etc. This includes responsibility for ensuring contract outcomes measures are met and that managers are delivering in line with budgets.
- To identify opportunities for developing their services
- To act as a lead Voice for the charity externally in the area as required.
Experience required:
- Relevant and substantial experience in services offering support for socially disadvantaged and vulnerable people
- Relevant and substantial experience of operational management
- Experience of managing budgets and maintaining financial records
- Experience of developing and implementing new services
