Local Systems Administrator ( IT )

A salary of £22,937 - £24,128, plus an IT Allowance of up to £4,473 is payable. 28.5 days annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays, flexible working hours, contributory pension scheme, onsite gym and much more…..

The place – Croydon.  Located 5 minutes’ walk from Croydon West train station and 10 minutes from the east station. The heart of London is just a 30 minute train ride away.

Information Systems – We are the in house technology division for Land Registry, whose main function is to provide the information systems and support needed to deliver the whole range of land information systems for our customers. The bulk of our staff work out of Plymouth but we have a support presence in all Land Registry offices.

The job – As the Local Systems Administrator ( IT ) (LSA) you will be responsible for providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support for systems, solutions and applications.  You will represent Information Systems, and in particular the IT Operations group, and provide technical support to ensure any new services are successfully transitioned into business as usual.  You will be part of a larger LSA community based at other Land Registry offices.  The successful Local Systems Administrator ( IT ) will ensure focus on maintaining infrastructure during a period of rapid IT change; supporting mainly business as usual, but also project related change.

The Requirements - In order to be successful in this role the Local Systems Administrator ( IT ) must be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and experience;

- The applicant must have worked for a significant period in an IT Functional Specialism post, including a period within the last 2 years.

- Knowledge and experience of customers’ (internal and external) IT requirements and business needs.

- Experience of supporting service delivery (in particular with regard to the application of technologies in support of local IT services).

It would be desirable but by no means essential for the Local Systems Administrator ( IT ) to have skills and experience in the following;

- ITIL Foundation Certificate in Service Management.- PRINCE2 or an equivalent project management qualification.

- Knowledge and experience of some of the following: Windows 7, Active Directory, Blackberry Service, 3G mobility solution, IT infrastructure, Telephony systems

- Knowledge and experience of Incident Management and the ISO 20000 framework in a medium/large organisation.

- Use of a Service Management support tool (eg Marval).
