Location: Chelmsford

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £50,349 per annum

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Employee Relations & Development Manager. Our client faces exciting times and the multi-award winning HR team is looking for a talented and a motivated individual to join them to take the service to the next level.

Reporting into to the Group Manager and with deputising responsibility, you will ensure provision of a leading edge, customer-focused and effective HR service that enables the Council to achieve optimum performance at all times.

You will hit the ground running supporting managers to find solutions to people issues and be accountable for staff who are responsible for delivering effective and efficient Employee Relations and Workforce development services.

This is a broad generalist role and offers a unique opportunity to help develop policy and to drive through implementation as well as delivering frontline operational support at a high level which enables managers to manage effectively for themselves. The role will include involvement in Talent Management, Performance Management, Engagement, Reward and Recognition, Change Management and Transformation amongst others.

You will act as a principal Business Partner with technical expertise in tackling complex employee relations cases. Very strong HR background in a complex unionised environment supported by up- to-date knowledge of employment legislation and case law will be required.

Applicants should have relevant degree and / or a CIPD Chartered Member or Fellow. You will have great people management skills & experience with considerable ability to influence key decision making processes.

Assessment / Interviews are to be held on Friday 4th September or Friday 11th September 2015.
