Our client is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.

As a member of the College Marketing team, the Student Recruitment Officer is responsible for providing excellent marketing support to customers, students and staff and ensuring that the College attracts sufficient learners to achieve its strategic growth plans.  This is a part time role (29.6 hours per week) and is a fixed term contract for 12 months.

Working with the Marketing and Development Manager and Schools Liaison Officers at Guisborough, Newton Rigg and York, you will identify and target significant local schools/organisations, which have the potential to generate multiple enquirers/admissions; continually developing strategies to approach these organisations including communications and commercial propositions. 

Maintaining and developing relationships with feeder schools and partner organisations ensuring the communication of accurate information and feedback between partners, you must develop a termly marketing action plan to support student recruitment and progression and implement the marketing and promotional activity for the Newcastle Centre (including local events, liaising with centre staff to generate news stories, assist with photo calls, collate content for marketing literature etc).

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will ideally hold a recognised marketing qualification coupled with tactical and strategic marketing experience gained within an education environment or a service-focused organization.  With excellent people management skills and the ability to influence and persuade across varied stakeholder groups, you will have good written and verbal communication skills and experience in developing marketing events and collateral for recruitment purposes; aimed at different age groups and at appropriate times in recruitment cycle.

Ideally, you will also have good IT skills and an understanding of websites as a marketing and communications tool and use of social media to engage.
