Mechanical Design Engineer - West Yorkshire

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for design, development and sustaining engineering of custom/bespoke mechanical parts for consumer products. All products of are high-volume Electro-mechanical products intended for use in consumer's homes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

*Work under general supervision of Lead Mechanical Engineer
*Develop high-volume electromechanical parts and enclosures based on requirements from Industrial Designer, Lead Hardware Engineer and customers
*Apply principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials to designs
*Model plastic and sheet metal parts & assemblies via Pro/E WF4 or Creo
*Perform tolerance stack-up analysis on assemblies & specify appropriate GD&T callouts
*Produce, revise & sustain mechanical part designs and drawings
*Review vendor DFM feedback and recommendations, implement improvements
*Provide accurate PCB/PCA control drawings to PCB layout designers


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

*Previous design experience with injection moulded components
*Highly experienced with Master Model/parts breakout methodology
*Previous strong experience with Pro/E WF4 or Creo 2 (preferred), NX, Catia, etc. mandatory
*Part modelling with experience in rendering ID surfaces is highly desirable
*Design of board-level EMI shielding components with Pro/Sheetmetal is desired
*Practical working knowledge of Windchill Intralink desired
*Structural/thermal analysis skills (Mechanica) are a plus
*Ability to produce drawings per ASME Y14.5 requirements
*Proven expertise with typical consumer product ECR/ECO lifecycle required
