Electronic Design Engineer

Reporting to the Engineering Manager the role will involve working with colleagues to design, develop and test new power solutions for Military and Commercial markets.

The focus will be on the technical development of products which include AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies, battery charge controllers, active power management systems and battery management systems.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of low power circuit design, SMPS design, design for SMT, cadence schematic and Gerber tools, PIC Microprocessor languages (Embedded C or Assembler), GUI design and fault finding. Knowledge of CE approval, LVD, EMC, Thermal management, FMEA and MTBF analysis would be preferred.

In addition you will have a BSc/BEng in Electronic Engineering or a related subject and have experience of working under pressure to set timescales and on a variety of projects. Excellent presentation, communication and organisational skills are a pre requisite.
