One of the largest high tech manufacturers of hydraulic & custom designed manifold blocks and CNC precision machined components within Europe, part of an established and highly successful privately owned fluid power engineering group of companies, is offering you a terrific opportunity to play a pivotal role as Senior Operations Coordinator / Planner / Operations Manager, and be an important part in their expansion into new and exciting markets.
Servicing the defence, offshore, aerospace, medical and ship building industries, as well as the traditional fluid power sector, their state of the art manufacturing facilities and class leading design capabilities means they’re regularly involved in a diverse range of high profile projects, from manifolds for London's West End theatres to manifolds for nuclear submarines.
SENIOR OPERATIONS PLANNER / CO-ORDINATOR – OPERATIONS MANAGER
SALARY: Circa £30,000 to £35,000 (DOE) Plus 25 day holiday & pension.
LOCATION: You will be based at the manufacturing, design and machining facility at Waterlooville, Hampshire, 5 minutes from the A3M, just north of Portsmouth and about 45 minutes from Guildford, Surrey. You should live within daily commuting distance or be willing to relocate at your own expense.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operational functions of the business, leading and motivating a small team, including Engineering Design, Estimating, Quality, and Administration, coordinating inter departmental activities, and progressing customer requirements from initial enquiry through to dispatch.
Your key duties, responsibilities and objectives will include:
* Ensure planning processes are aligned between sales, purchasing, planning, and manufacturing.
* Managing, maintaining and developing operational objectives against KPI’s, evaluating performance and recommending changes for improved performance.
* Liaising and communicating with senior management in support of sales activities and to ensure client requirements and expectations are met.
* Defining, controlling, and monitoring the flow of sales and work orders through the MRP System.
* Ad hoc project management tasks.
* Helping to identify opportunities to introduce more efficient working practices.
* Motivating and encouraging the team, promoting teamwork, cooperation, and a "right first time, every time" attitude.
Ideally with experience working in a high tech manufacturing / engineering environment, you will be a strong people and process manager, able to introduce new ideas and initiatives to improve processes, take ownership of tasks, and lead and motivate an integrated team. You will have excellent communication skills, sound IT skills, and a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
