A Facilities Coordinator is required to join a leading expert in immunoassay development and manufacturing services, and provides an extensive portfolio of products and technologies to global diagnostic markets.
The Person:
Facility Coordinator is responsible for performing maintenance activities, coordinating contractors and performing specific equipment maintenance at the Blaenavon sites.
The Role:
- Responsible for completing maintenance activities identified by Site Lead, Department Managers or HSE Officer to continually improve the facility. Major improvements/changes will be identified in a Site Improvement Plan.
- Perform activities such as decorating, basic plumbing, racking and furniture assembly, alterations and repairs. Move furniture and equipment as required.
- Perform troubleshooting, investigations and facilitate any repair of equipment and facilities.
- Identify areas for improvement or upgrade.
- Obtain detailed quotations with specifications from contractors prior to raising purchase orders for authorization.
- Liaise with external contractors, ensuring their activities are performed safely
- Introduce and qualify new equipment.
- Responsible for ensuring external service providers maintain equipment according to contract, including but not restricted to; Water Systems: Air-Conditioning / Refrigeration
- Security and Fire Systems: Forklifts: Generators: Gas boilers
- Ensure all lights within the facility and all common parts are functioning
- Responsible for ensuring external providers maintain telecommunication and IT equipment.
- Key holder for sites.
- Remove rubbish and ensure all external areas are clean and tidy. Remove scrap equipment and dispose of in accordance with regulations.
- Keep Department Managers / HSE Officer informed of progress on requested tasks.
- Accurate and timely completion of maintenance records and quality documents.
- Maintain own training records and relevant procedures
- Participation in Validation activities (when required)
- Ensure that all interactions with Customers and contractors by self are professional
- Contact for out of hours calls.
- Ability to perform maintenance on equipment and systems, including;
o Water Systems: Vacuum pumps: Alfa Laval centrifuge: Robatel centrifuge
o Generators
- Responsible for dealing with emergency and unplanned problems and repairs.
Required Skills:
- Qualification in engineering or qualified electrician
- General engineering experience
- Mechanical/electrical skills and experience on equipment
- Handyperson skills
- Experience in validation of equipment
- IOSH safety and health training
- COSHH training
- Work At Height training
- Asbestos awareness training
- Computer literate, in Microsoft applications.
