My client a leading bank is looking to recruitan ETL SSIS Specialist. They will use theirSQL Server and SSIS expertise on all aspects of the software development life cycle from design through to post implementation support as well as leading on best practice, SSIS consultancy and technology roadmap.
Description:
Coming from an ETL specialist background with extensive experience of Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services - both 2008R2 and 2012SQL, you will:
- Use your in depth knowledge of SSIS to establish the role in the consultancy space - providing insights and expertise to both review and improve the quality of our in-house built estate of BI applications.
- Have strong consultancy skills and experience in: providing technical leadership for ETL/SSIS; generating, evaluating and influencing technical solutions to business issues, recognising both the technical and wider strategic and business implications of decisions;
- Build an understanding of processes, systems and organisational issues to be proactive in putting forward tactical changes.
- Spend a proportion of your time seconded onto projects where you'll collaborate with developer peers to refine requirements, estimate, design, develop, test and implement high quality software components;
- As the ETL specialist on the team you'll:
- Lead in the creation of ETL frameworks - building upon the existing library of SSIS development best practice to ensure high quality service and performance.
- Manage/provide expert advice and deliver technical solutions, articulating this to peers and wider development staff with the willingness and ability to mentor and direct.
- Lead on educating both BI and wider developer peers on the features and enhancements of SSIS 2012.
- Be capable of leading other senior developers in SSIS development best practice.
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, methods and standards.
Requirements
- Extensive experience of Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services - both 2008R2 and 2012 along with a deeper understanding of SSIS internals including: troubleshooting, debugging, monitoring, performance tuning and designing SSIS packages. In particular, significant experience of performance tuning SSIS to handle large data volumes.
- Extensive experience of designing and developing complex SSIS packages to support Business Intelligence and application integration solutions; Have a good understanding of technical architectures and have Datamodelling and design skills;
- Be proactive and forward thinking, capable of investigating and grasping complex problems (often to tight deadlines), resolving them to a high standard.
- Have highly effective communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills to interpret present and promote ideas where necessary to a variety of recipients using suitable modes of communication. When appropriate you have the confidence to push own ideas when others may not agree.
- Have experience of tools supporting the development process including Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, SQL Server Management Studio;
- Demonstrate the desire and ability to seek up to date information from elsewhere and apply this in relation to design, development, support and management activities;
- Have worked throughout the full software development life cycle and different software development models. In particular, testing experience sufficient to take part in test activities including test case derivation, unit testing, system testing and user acceptance test support
