 My client, one of the country's leading software consultancies, is looking for a Technical Architect to deliver both hands-on technical expertise, and high quality architectural solutions, to clients throughout the UK. You will be responsible for leading the architecture design of IT infrastructure on medium and large sized projects, and will work on client sites to ensure the integrity of the IT infrastructure. Our client is going through a huge period of growth, and this is a truly exciting time to join their fantastic infrastructure team.

Infrastructure Technical Architect: About the Role:

You will be responsible for the architecture design of medium to large projects on a variety of client sites, across a large geographical area and a range of industries. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and viability of the infrastructure, and will work proactively to troubleshoot any issues and minimise the impact of change. You will work autonomously, often acting as the business' only representative on client sites, and will liaise closely with internal and external stakeholders, delivery partners and colleagues within the architecture team to deliver high quality solutions.

Infrastructure Technical Architect: Key Skills and Experience

• An extremely strong technical background, encompassing: Automation (Puppet/Cobbler), Linux, Unix, server and desktop virtualisation, cloud-based solutions, database technologies, server hardware, Firewall, security and networking, and storage technologies
• A proven track record in the architecture of complex IT systems, ensuring alignment with the requirements of internal and external stakeholders
• Experience of infrastructure architecture, planning, design and implementation on large scale projects
• A background in working within an outsourced technology environment, the ability to deliver through a Matrix organisational structure
• The ability to design, document and facilitate complete infrastructure solutions, including technology, applications and operations.
• Experience of enterprise applications integration, transformation/migration, open source platforms, Middleware platforms, virtualisation technologies, storage and hosting solutions
• Strong communication skills and extensive client facing experience - the ability to represent the business positively and effectively on client site.
